Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) is a joint venture between Government of Pakistan (60%) and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (40%) through Mubadala Investment Company. PARCO is the largest fully integrated energy company in Pakistan with business activities comprising of crude oil refining, transportation, storage, and marketing of petroleum products. PARCO has the most modern refinery in Pakistan having a capacity of 120,000 BPD, over 2000 kms of cross-country pipeline network (including its subsidiary Pak-Arab Pipeline Company Limited (PAPCO) with a strategic storage of over one million tons, and a rapidly expanding retail network of TOTAL PARCO (TPPL) – a joint venture with TOTAL of France. PARCO is also marketing nationwide LPG under the brand of Pearl Gas and fuel oil under the brand of Pearl fuels. High quality asphalt is also being marketed as Biturox. Having solidified its position as the leading energy lifeline of the nation, PARCO’s new vision focuses on becoming responsible and sustainable across all business functions.
PARCO, as part of its long-term strategy, is exploring renewable and sustainable fuels to work towards decarbonization. It is working with Mubadala Energy and OMV to explore opportunities in this to promote a circular economy. One of the objectives of the project is to utilize plastic waste to generate sustainable feedstock and synthetic fuels to drive the business towards energy transition.
PARCO has received Environment Excellence Awards for the last several years and is rated among the top 10 organizations in Pakistan for outstanding achievement in Environment Management. This is just the beginning of PARCO’s sustainable journey as numerous multibillion-dollar initiatives are in the pipeline including Euro-V fuels, solar power, green hydrogen, and sustainable fuels and plastic recycling (circular economy).
